Jakub Wala
Jakub Wala is a musician and educator located in the Greater New York City Area, specializing in modern and contemporary dance accompaniment. He earned his B.M, with a concentration in music education and percussion, from Montclair State University under the direction of Barry Centanni, Matt Smallcomb, and Minhe Ju. Wala currently serves as an adjunct with Montclair's Dance and Theater Department, as well as being an in-house musician and composer, for the Paul Taylor Foundation and Steffi Nossen School of Dance. He has specialized training in World Percussion including Handpan, Rav Vast and West African Drumming. He is privileged to be the musician for notable choreographers and educators such as: Frederick Earl Mosley, Carolyn Adams, Cameron McKinney, Sabatino Verlezza, and Maxine Steinman. Wala was also a distinguished artist for ACDA 2018 and 2023 conference, hosted by the Montclair State University Dance Department.
